Paradise Valley
Morning Trek
This beautiful Oasis was about an hour drive away from our riad. Located in the Moroccan high Atlas mountains the valley is known for its abundance of rock pools and small waterfalls.

Being one of the most popular day trips we booked it as soon as we arrived. I packed a few items for this day trip knowing I would be trekking and getting wet.

We arrived early in the morning to make the most out of the day. Beginning our trek with our portable speakers, bottles of water and sturdy shoes. Make sure you bring a good pair of walking shoes if coming to Morocco so you can enjoy the adventures in comfort.

Our driver had arranged our tour guide, who turned out to be his cousin. I love how much they value their family and looked out for one another. His name was Sumar, he was beautiful and spoke 4 languages.

The trail was long but not treacherous, a nice way to end your trip, clear your mind and reflect. The view was of course dazzling and we got to feed monkeys and ride a camel once we had reached the top!
It is an oasis of peace and nature, a must see when in Marrakesh.

Afternoon Swim

Once you have walked the trail, its time to take a dip in the river hidden between the high rocks.

I dived into the clear water, warm from the sun. Splashing about and embracing the tranquil feeling.

We ate lunch in the cafes by the plunge pool. Enjoying the sounds of nature as we tucked into another tagine.

It was the sweetest meal I had ever tasted, maybe because we had just done a hike and were hungry, or the beautiful surroundings or maybe the chef was the best in town.Whatever the reason I will never forget the taste of the glorious meal.

We sat there feeling fulfilled and content with our days work.
The trip will cost you around 200durham return. Bring some extra money for food and gifts from the nearby village’s market.
Try and get your own driver otherwise you can book it through the many companies providing day trips.
