Market Day

We started the day on our lovely Riad rooftop, after some breakfast and subathing we headed to the market hungry for adventure.

Our Riad (Guesthouse) was a 10 minute walk from Jamaa El Fanaa square…we stumbled into the square, lost and dishevelled 30minutes later ha. The maze like roads had us bamboozled and although many men offered us help after paying the first guy who took us to the wrong destination we decided to rely on ourselves.

As soon as we stepped into the market the haggling began and we didnt catch a break. By the time we got to the third stall and bought a few things it finally dawned on us that we were being shafted consistently by the market stall owners.
An item that started at 100 dirham you could eventually get for 10 dirham. Your bartering skills need to be on another level or they will take you for everything you have.

By the time we had got back to our Riad we were shattered. Engulfed by our new surroundings, everything was different…we were in Africa now.

From the sounds to the smells and even the sun our bodies were tired but our minds rejuvenated.
